About the Journal

The Journal of Social and Community Development (JSCD) is an open access journal managed by the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Surabaya, Indonesia. It was established in response to the multifaceted global challenges that affect communities and economies across borders. Within such profound impact of these challenges, JSCD aims to serve as a critical platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to share cutting-edge research and practical insights. The journal’s foundation is rooted in the need for comprehensive and current references that address the dynamic nature of global economic interactions and their implications on local social economies. In such manner, it provides a robust repository of knowledge. Therefore, JSCD facilitates the exchange of ideas and solutions that can help communities navigate and thrive amidst global economic turbulence.

JSCD is committed to a biannual publication schedule, releasing papers in May and November each year. Equally important to our publishing schedule is our policy of not imposing any publication fees or Article Processing Charges (APC) on authors. This commitment reflects our dedication to supporting open access to research and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the dissemination of scholarly work.A typical paper submitted to this journal should adhere to a length between 4000 and 7000 words. This word count includes all elements such as the abstract, tables, references, figure captions, and footnotes.

JSCD is particularly focused on how social economies within countries adapt to and address these global challenges.
